Since 1947, Repetto has perpetuated the art of the precise gesture in the purest artisanal tradition. Driven by a constant quest for excellence, the Maison embodies French elegance, combining refinement, technical skill and emotion.
Based in Saint-Médard-d'Excideuil in the Dordogne for more than 75 years, our historic factory is home to more than a hundred artisans. This is where our products are born, handcrafted with respect for gestures passed down through generations.
At the heart of this place, stitch-and-return, the Maison's signature, is passed on with rigor and discretion. This exceptional savoir-faire, made of patience and precision, embodies the Repetto vision: an elegance built on respect for the gesture, for time and for the material.
Our shoes, just like our ballet shoes, are handcrafted using techniques unique to Maison Repetto, including the "stitch-and-return" technique.
This exceptional and meticulous manufacturing process is used to make every Repetto ballet shoe and every legendary Repetto shoe. It illustrates the full precision of the Maison's savoir-faire, as it requires the shoes to be sewn and assembled inside out on a light yet resistant vegetable-tanned leather sole, before being turned right side out.
This savoir-faire gives them a very special flexibility and makes them more comfortable to wear.
From the careful selection of leathers to the precise finishing, every stage of manufacturing is carried out with extreme attention to detail.
